  1. What does SafeTexting AR+ cost and where do I get it.
    SafeTexting AR is 99 cents. The app can be downloaded from the Android Market and BlackBerry AppWorld.
     
  2. How does SafeTexting AR reduce distracted driving?
    While you are driving, if someone sends you a text message, SafeTexting AR+ automatically replies to the sender letting them know that you are currently driving. So next time you hear your phone buzz, you don't have to worry about responding to that text until you get to your destination. 
     
  3. How do I get SafeTexting AR+?
    From your smartphone go to Android Market or BlackBerry AppWorld and search for SafeTexting. 
     
  4. When I installed the application, my phone prompted me for permissions, what is that all about?
    In order for SafeTexting AR+ to function it needs permission to interact with various components in the phone. For example, calculate the speed the phone is traveling at the application needs permissions to the phone's GPS. Inorder to detect and respond to SMS messages the app needs permissions to the SMS components.
     
  5. How will my battery be impacted by the application?
    The SafeTexting AR+ only runs when needed. As a result the app uses very very little battery. SafeTexting AR uses GPS technology to determine your speed. The app will only interact with GPS when required to determine speed again resulting in very little battery consumption.
     
  6. What types phones does the app work on?
    The Safe Texting application is currently available for BlackBerry phones with operating system version OS 6 or newer and BlackBerry 10. It is also available for phones with the Android operating system version 2.1 and above. Most smart phones today are powered by the Android OS, this includes DROID INCREDIBLE by HTC, DROID by Motorola, DROID 2, Motorola BRAVO, DROID X, DROID Pro, Motorola Backflip, Motorola Flipout, Motorola FlipSide, Motorola CITRUS, Motorola DEVOUR, Sony Ericsson Xperia, HTC Aria, Samsung Captivate, LG Ally, Samsung Fascinate, Samsung Continuum, DROID R2D2, HTC EVO, Samsung Epic, LG Optimus, Sanyo Zio, Samsung Intercept, Samsung Transform, HTC Hero, Motorola i1 and many other phones with the Android OS. 
     
  7. What if my phone doesn't have GPS?
    Most smart phones today are equipped with GPS, however a few providers are cutting corners and not including GPS on phones that are normally equipped with GPS. Verify that you phone has GPS prior to purchasing the Safe Texting application. After installing the app please verify you have GPS enabled.
     
  8. Can I get SafeTexting AR+ for iPhone?
    Unfortunately the iPhone doesn't provide a way to detect incomming SMS messages. Due to this we are currently unable to release an iPhone version of SafeTexting AR+. SafeTexting R is available for iPhone
     
  9. What do I do if SafeTexting AR+ stops working?
    This should rarely if ever happen.
    • Verify GPS is turned on.  
    • Verify SafeTexting AR+ is installed. (Make sure you only have one version of SafeTexting installed)
    • If GPS is on and SafeTexting AR+ is installed, occasionally phones that have been on for an extended period of time need a full rebooted. Turn the phone off, remove the battery. After 20 seconds put the battery back in the phone and turn the phone on.
       
  10. Is the app available for business?
    Yes, Businesses who have drivers on the road also need to prevent distracted driving. Texting and driving not only puts a business at financial risk, but it also puts the business' reputation at risk through negative media exposure. For business licensing and/or infomation about phone apps with more control over phone interaction while driving please contact us.
